Default Is my car ready for a procharge?

Hey,Recently i've been thinking about throwing on a procharger perferably this one http://www.vmptuning.com/store/index...=112&parent=55 unless you guys know of any better ones. But before i go ahead and put that nice balance on my credit card i wanted to make sure my car was set up for it and the pistons could take it. I have a 2001 mustang v6 automatic.. It has 47,000 miles on it and the following mods.----double cross subframe connectors, ford racing cold air intake, custom straight duel exhaust,3.73 gears with anti slip. diff.,throttle body and spacer, ported and polished lower intake manifold with modified EGR valve, front and rear strut braces, rear end girdle, long tube headers and an x-calibrator 2 with 91% octane tune. This is my only car and i plan on keeping it for a long time. In the future i also was planning to port and polish my upper intake manifold and put in a billet camshaft with roller rockers..Also this is my only car i usually just use it to get into town tho. 5 days a week all highway about a 15 minute trip so this car is still my every day car.

You may want to get a sheetmetal intake instead of a P&P on your upper. That way a larger TB can go on.

yeah, you're ready.

You were ready once you did the chassis work and the girdle. with the port and polish, you should pick up some battle box reinforcements, though, since you're planning to keep it for a long while.

The kit is designed for an unmodded engine, you shouldn't have any problems re: pistons -so long as you get the dynotune to eliminate detonation.

Check the prices in the AFM store, they've been really good!

The others to check out are GTRHipo, and RPM-Outlet for prices.

be careful as to how many pounds of boost you run though. i wouldn't do any more than say, 7 unless you build up the motor a little bit because like you said this is your daily driver and you need to be very reliable because if something effs up, you have no ride. personally if it were me, i would build the motor up just a bit to be on the safe side. what you are doing is how my little bro blew up his 6...

oh yeah intercooler and all the works... you have to remember that compression is a big factor too. make sure you find somebody to put it in that really knows what they are doing and watch engine temps, compression levels, everything has to set up right otherwise you get a little boom boom in the zoom zoom. keep in mind too that your car i am assuming already runs a little hot because you are tuned for 91 octane

I agree many 11PSI have run safely the key is in the tune , as long as it is tuned safely you will be OK . Justin is one of the best V6 tuners .
