I have a 94 v6 mustang and a few questions about an upcoming project.
A buddy of mine had a 92 thunderbird sc and pulled the supercharger out of it before he got rid of it. The supercharger sounded and worked great, and he also has the lower intake, fuel rails, intake plenum, and intercooler - 2 or 3 of the injectors are shot, which led to the engine demise, and I was wondering how the mustang engine (about 110k) will hold up to the boost pressure? From what I have heard, the sc heads and block were stronger, so will this kill my engine?
Also, I THINK stock boost on the eaton charger was 15 (may be 10 or so, i dunno) but if I put a smaller pulley on for a "safe" boost, would it even be worth going through all the effort and modifications?
Has anyone performed this installation before? How were the results? Would it be more economical (cost, time, labor, reliability) to put in a v6 from, maybe a 99+ in?
I'm not trying to make a strip car, I just want a car with a little more pep - a bit more than a gt would be great.
Also, I have a dual exhast from flowmaster that I want to put on my car, and cant find a link that was posted for a gt conversion x or h pipe. (has to be 50 legal... stupid emmisions)
I know that was quite a few questions, and I thank everyone who took the time to read this, and to those who respsonded.
Just take the exhaust to a shop... it will be cheap to get it welded on for you... You cant really put that on a 99+ since you wouls have to get custom intakes made for it... it would not be worth the money

The hp/torque for the 94 with the eaton would be about, what - I think 200 hp and 220 ft lbs on the tb sc. And the hp/torque on a 99+ (stock) is what - about 190 hp / 220 ft lbs.
If I'm killing my engine to keep it running right next to a newer, stock 99, should I upgrade to a newer engine? Cost is a little bit of an issue, but an engine install should be maybe $2k? - which would be ok. But would I need to swap / modify suspension, etc?
Also, I dont know what the other owner(s) did to the car. It was running ratty when I got it - new MAF and EGR, and runs well now, but looks like they recently installed a new intake gasket (im guessin head gasket blew on it too just because they are prone to) and appears to have a cam position sensor from a 94 tbird or taurus - which I think means the timing chain cover was also switched? I'm not 100% sure. They also had little tiny wheels on it, so the mileage may be off by about 10%, so about 100k, but it seems to run ok. I should do a compression check, but cannot find the adaptor - "friends".
Then to top things off, everyone around here in NJ is about as useful as an inflateable dartboard when it comes to mustangs, and even less usefull at v6s
doing that super charger mod is very complicated and I would not suggest doing ot without a complete sc engine to swap. There are many parts that are needed to make the mods necessary that you dont have. The computer is different, throttle cables, thermostat housing needs to be changed, many brakets are different, and the sc block is built a lot stronger than a mustang's and you could do some damage to your engine.

The computer is about $20 shipped, and the brackets could be fabricated, I'm sure I could find a throttle cable and thermostat housing, but your point is well taken.
Any particular year engine you recommend? ... without too many modifications necessary to make it work?
there are even more unforseen changes than what i have listed. if you are serious about putting on the supercharger i would go with a complete engine and safe yourself a lot of frustration.

you'd be better off with 99-00 engine unles syou hav ethe block from the SC.

no, it's 220 hp/315 torque for the SC engine.
The SC block will fit your car without swapping the K-member.
The only advantage would be the torque, but you won't be able to run very hard compared to the 99+ engines. The 99+ engines breathe so much better, that adding a centrifugal SC will get you better power without nearly as many issues.
You can pick up a complete SC engine for $1800 at an O'reilleys.
But it's a tough swap.
