Im looking at cold air kits for my 1992 GT and have posted a thread before about it. I did, however forget to mention that i am located in central California and must pass a smog test. Anyone know of California legal cold air kits out there??

hey man in cali cold air kits are legal as long as you have a tube from ur valve cover that goes to ur intake and not a lil breather filter (i think thats what they're called).

I have heard JLT and Chicane CAI's will not pass California smog, so pretty much i am just checking around...

DeMolet Cold Air Intakes are 100% legal. Checked it over with my mechanic.

a little on the late train, but so are the k&n intakes. in cali, it doesnt matter if the tubes are going back to the valve covers are still there, if your intake isnt stock or have the CARB number on there, its illegal and wont pass.

keep all of your stock stuff! I went with K&N because it has a CARB #. I don't think JLT or C&L does....but if you decide to go with either of them just take it off and put your stock one on before the smog test....will take 10 minutes

The cold air kits that have a CARB E.O.# have already been deemed acceptable to the California Air Resource Board (C.A.R.B.) and should pass your smog inspections without incident.... or you can take off whatever kind you decide to buy before your smog test like jjtgiants said.

Just put a Demolet on the the other day of course I kept the stock intake tubing just in case.. Socal
