Question Granatelli 62mm throttle body for 2006 GT

Hello. Does anybody out there have any experience with the twin 62mm Granatelli throttle bodies for 2005-07 GT's? I purchased on e-bay and cannot get it to work properly. These are very basic and I followed all the instalation instructions and even called their tech line looking for assistance but I still had the same issue the throttle seems to be sticking open. After I installed it I took it for a test run and was able to idle at 65 mph in 4th gear. Push in the clutch when you come to a stop and it idles up to 3000+ RPM and continues to rev until you reengage the cluch at which point it drops back down but as soon as you touch the accelerator it starts all over again. I tried their tech support again and all they said was check the idle stop and make sure the return spring was properly engaged which I verified twice and everything was adjusted correctly but I still have the same issue. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Seriously, and I'm not trying to be an A-hole, but your first mistake was buying a Granatelli product...I don't like to bash companies cause it's not my style, but I'd put it back on ebay and try to get some of your money back and go with a more reputable company.

I don't know how much different the 05' throttle bodies are, but it sounds like your throttle position sensor is off. From my experience the TPS is VERY sensitive. I'm not sure if the 05+ stangs TPS is adjustable, but if it were a 99-04 Stang I'd tell you to check the voltage of your TPS sensor because it controls the RPM's during idle and wide open throttle.

I think this thread is posted in the wrong section and that's why more people didn't respond. Try posting the same question in the 2005+ tech section. I'm sure you'll get some good advice

Default Throttle Body

I can think of two problem areas offhand. First is making sure you have the new throttle body drive gear lined up correctly and second is to check the voltage output on your TPS. It should read as close to .99 volts as possible with the key on and the engine off. With the key on and the engine running at idle it should read approx. 1.05 volts.

I can think of two possible problems right off-hand. First is making sure the throttle body drive gear is lined up with the throttle motor drive gear. Second is making sure the TPS is correctly adjusted. It should read as close to .99 volts as possible with the key on and the engine off. It should also read approx 1.05 volts with the key on and the engine running at idle. When you increase the throttle the voltage should smoothly increase to approx. 5 volts at WOT. Then there is the possibility that the new throttle body need a different tune to operate correctly and as far as the TECH GUYS, they're lucky if they can find their way to work without a guide dog.
