Question Is 3.73 Gears and 281 Supercharger with 6-8psi boost too much?

Hey all, time has come and I have to try my hand at supercharging the 97 gt. My question is, all said and done, will 3.73s and a 281 with 6-8psi of boost be too much? I currently am running 255/45/17 front and 275/40/17 rear tires, with sub frame connectors, lower control arms, lowered with FFRP C springs. Traction and drivability will be my biggest concern. Also, what kind of quarter mile times am I looking? Thanks for any in put!
Nick

Driveability will be determined by the tune. Traction can be an issue. Will this be a supercharger or turbo? Roots or centri? Anything else done to the car? 1/4 times are a hard thing to guess at. Are you a automatic or 5 speed? Can you drive? With the right set of tires and rwhp in the range of 300-325 you could run mid to high 12s - if you can drive. The 3.73s are a nice upgrade for your year because you had 2.73s stock. Throw the stuff on there and worry about the traction later.

My 97 had 3:27s stock and the change to the 3:73s was well worth it. Are you running a stock bottom end engine? The non-pi 4.6 already doesn't breath very good so you may only end up with 300 rwhp. It may be worth it to swap in a used pi (99-04) engine and then supercharge it or just rebulid the whole thing with pi parts. If you can drive then any the amount of power your looking at shouldn't be a problem. If it is a set of drag radials will cure it.

if you go with the PI upgrade. My KB 8psi setup on my 2000 GT gives me 375 rwhp and Mid to low 12's at the track.
