glad to see another albertan on the site. i just joined last night and I am waiting on afew answers myself. As to your spark plug question. I donot want to give you the wrong idea, but on my last years set up I was running the stock plugs with my saleen s/c . my car has a totaly built short block and was making roughly 13lbs. of boost. this seemed to work well on that setup.although I am not to familiar with your setup.hope this will help you GT RO

Hey how ya doin'?
My FRPP/Whipple non-intercooled s/c kit came with the Ford Racing plugs (one step colder than stock). I'm getting a bit of pre-ignition in the 2500-3000 rpm range under full throttle. I sent my Ford Pro-Cal tuner back to Whipple and they are going to take out 2 degrees global timing. They told me that they've had a couple other guys with the non-intercooled kits with the same problem and this fixed it up.
Stock plugs are a not recommended due to the platinum used on stock plugs (this is for longevity of the plug). Depending upon how much boost you are running I would suggest either one or two ranges colder of a plug. The NGK TR6 is one range colder than stock and the NGK BR7EF is two ranges colder than stock. These are copper core plugs than run well in boosted applications. A lot of people like Autolite and some like the Motorcraft. Just make sure the plugs that you decide to use are not Iridium or Platinum plugs. Copper core plugs offer the most spark current. I personally run the BR7EF plug gapped at .035. I am running 18+ pounds of boost.
how much that kb cost u? im thinking of getting it? how much do u like it?

I think the KB 2.1L kits are running right in the $5000 range. I had a 1.7L on my 04 and it was awesome. You get the torque and power curves of a big block and if you can use some self restraint in traffic, you can still get around 20mpg. The kit is 100% complete with the exception of spark plugs. I also dropped down to a 180F thermostat when mine went on. As summer rolled around I had an 03 Cobra radiator added just for insurance.
