i believe out of the two, centrifugals are generally quieter than the roots-style.... so that limits it more... the roots style chargers are like Keene bell, Saleen, etc

I have never heard a roots style before so i don't know what it sounds like, i do know that if you want a sweet whistle sound then get the one i have, Procharger P1-SC, everyone tells me at shows and shopping malls, and everywhere i go for that matter that that car sounds sweet, the whistle is at a perfect decibal, it sounds awesome, trust me if you bought one of these you would not be dissapointed.

I have an old ATI P1200B, and it whines like a mofo. It was actually somewhat quiet for a while. I took it on a long roadtrip and when I got back...everyone told me it had become much louder. When I actually listened to it...it had! I like the whining sound with the blower sucking air through the filter in the fender. It's so cool.

Ok all you ProCharger fans out there, not that anything is wrong with them because I think there sweet, you can't beat the intercooling, anyway my opinion, I have a Vortech V1 s-trim which is louder than my buddies Procharged D1. Great reliablity and awesome sounding. Take a look at my pics of it in the members gallery. Don't go by sound alone take it all into concideration before you buy.

I'd rather have my super charger not too loud. Just enough to hear if you pay attention. I have a blow off valve go everytime time I left off the gas. Now *that's* intmidation!

I also wanted a loader whine out of my supercharger, all I ever heard before I bought mine were Vortech V-2 compressors and they are pretty quite. I have a Vortech V-1 on my car and to tell ya the truth it's actually too load of a whine. Although it only whines at idle, anything over idle and the gear whine goes away and all you hear then is the whistle of the air rushing through the compressor wheel. But like I said at idle it is almost too load as it does get on my nerves at times. I've even had people tell me that there is something wrong with my car when I'm a stop and go light and I just tell them it's a loose belt or something.

Bring a couple of cameras. She tends to break them(I don't know how but she's eaten 3 of them so far) Maybe I'll have enough money save for 14MM coged belts to make the blower wine louder

For street use, I think the Vortech V1 S-trim does. Or if your using a cog set up, they are loud.
