Default Will this work?

I am in the process of buying a new r302 block and i want to put a blower on it. The first super charger that came to mind is the novi 3000. I want something that will still be streetable but will smoke anything around me. I already have Trick Flow street heat cylinder heads( that are in the processof gettng ported) and other forged parts from my old engine. Would it be worth the extra money to get a stroker kit even thought im just going to run some insane amount of boost through the car any way.

You will have massive ammounts of torque with a stroker/sc combo, so its not easy to answer, how much is too much?

I think it all depends on how strong is your tranny and rear end, if it will be able to handle the torque of that combo.

Now on the other hand, boost on centrifugals comes on late, depending on the pulley and gearing, so a stroker can help you get off the line when theres no boost.

I think theres no straight answer here, could be awesome to have best of both.

I would probably go with a reliable 306 or 331, low compression and 19-20 psi, with 3.55s, a T56 gearbox and definately good axles and a strong posi.

novi 2000 is capable of 26lbs of boost and it would come on alot faster
than the 3000 would. mine really starts to pull hard around 3200.

Boost is merely a measure of backpressure.

I've seen a Novi make anywhere from 8 lbs to 32 lbs of boost. Anything's possible with restriction.

But...I know for a fact that the Novi 2000 makes enough volume to send a car into the high 8's, which should be more than sufficient, depending what runs around on the roads around you.

FordSpeed.com - Joe Bonczek is the guy you should call...that's my Novi boy...
