Default MAFs & blowers & bypass valves oh my

Hey.. So it occurs to me like this: If your MAF converts airflow into a simple voltage, is there any reason you couldn't put a second, appropriately sized & calibrated MAF, downstream of your bypass valve and vent it overboard rather than back to your inlet? The idea being, to vent hot boost overboard in favour of cool(er) ambient air. With the second MAF, you'd have a voltage representative of the airflow going overboard, subtract that from the voltage from the MAF going in (that could be interesting, I know) and shazam, your EEC doesn't know any different. Thoughts? Jim.

Jim if i understand this correctly, you can vent that excess boost overboard without putting it back into the inlet tube and you should'nt need a second M.A.F., i am gong to be running a 4" inlet pipe and i will be venting overboard, and will not be a problem, right know i am venting back into the inlet but i won't be soon. As far as could you put a second M.A.F. WHY no need to, if you run an Intercooler you don't have to worry about this, if you don't just vent it to atmosphere it sounds cool to. Thanks Mark.

You can't/shouldn't dump metered air into the atmosphere.
I you're running a BlowThru mass air set up you can put the blow off valve BEFORE the meter and dump it to atmosphere.

Amen on my set up the blow off valve is on the discharge side of the supercharger, therefore is is well before the M.A.F. so i will be dumping it to atmosphere when i install my 4" inlet tube, that air is not metered, Thanks for the input Alex. Mark.

Alex hit the point I was after - I'm trying to figure out how to vent hot, metered air overboard without the computer thinking there's a great enormous vacuum leak somewhere. Hence, the second MAF. Cheers. Jim.
