HEy everybody. so my dad and I were talking last night about cars and i told him that i wanted to go forced induction with my car and he was all excited about it then he said why don't you go with nitrous then down the road get a S/C or T/C. So my question is, what kind of nitrous system you guys would go with and whats the most amount of nitrous you would use and not detonate my motor?
Thanks
The biggest shot you should use is around 125-150, but I'd keep it to 100-125. This is if the engine is otherwise stock. You should go with a dry kit, it's easier to install. The wet kits make more power but at this point, the dry would be better.

you have to ask yourself is this your daily driver.
If this is your daily driver nitrous you will probably want to buy more parts inorder to make it more safe than if it was just your spare race car
i wouldnt run more than a 100shot on a stock motors (125 if you have balls and have teh $ to built a new motor b/c your on borrowed time)
id say get a nx 100shot
get the bottlewarmer
purgekit
injectors
fuelpump
windowswitch
with those things you should have a pretty decent setup and should be pretty safe.
after that you have to think of rest tires arent gong to drip (get DRs) clutch might not hold over 100more tq and rearend .....

I just installed a nitrous express plate system on my car. The plate system is suppose to be the best setup from what I have read. I would not buy a dry system myself. for anything 125 or under you do not need injectors or a fuel pump. 150 or more yes you would need those changes. my friend is spraying his 4.6 bone stock with a 150 shot with no issues all he has done is adjust the timing. I myself will stick with the 100 shot. the install is pretty simple just take your time and follow directions. everyone is going to have there own opinions I received a lot of help along the way from guys here with my set up

I would love to hear what makes a dry kit "better?"
i would also like to see prolonged life of a mustang ... gt to that matter running on 125shot constant with no injectors no pump, yes it will work but why not be safe and spend a little extra and make sure it sdone right.
p.s. id get a tune aswell.

I'm still waiting on a logical explanation as to why dry kits are better?
Don't forget to go for a 180 thermostat and drop a heat range on spark plugs. These aren't mandatory, but they'll give you just a bit more of a safety margin between you and detonation.

Utilizing the patented "Shark" nozzle, these systems are fully adjustable, 35, 50, 75 horsepower for 4 cylinder and V-6 applications, and up to 150h.p. for V-8 and V-12 cars. These systems require no engine modifications, operate on stock fuel pumps, and require no timing retards. The ultimate solution to make your vehicle a "Rocket". Any horsepower settings above the recommended levels require "NX Power Booster" fuel additive to prevent detonation.
ALONG WITH the Gen X 2 kit.
The ultimate nitrous system accessory. GenX-2 accessory pack includes all the components you need to make your nitrous system dependable and worry free. Kit includes: purge valve, fully automatic bottle heater with pressure transducer, fuel pressure safety switch, liquid filled N2O pressure guage, NHRA approved pressure release fitting, NHRA approved blowdown tube, all the electrical connectors and wire needed to complete the installation.

stock block, crank, rods, 150 shot of nitrous, shifting at 6500 and going through the traps at 7000.....
I have a ZEX Wet Nitrous Kit, bottle heater, and purge kit on my daily (minus winter) driver V6 and I am happy with them. My friend and I installed it ourselves with very little difficulty. I am only running 75hp right now, but will go to 100 after I get a new Cold Air intake, tune, plugs, wires, and gears. You can't beat it for cheap, instant hp.

MAN THAT REALLY SUCKS!!
I have a 85 GT with rebuilt 302 1000 miles on it with mild cam, high rise intake, Holly 4 bbl. Shorties and complete MSD ignition setup 5 speed manual. Would it be ok to use a 100 shot with no timming retard? And what should be my max rpm's of this engine I should run it? I was thinking 6000 K max but I have never run it over 4000 RPM since the rebuild since I bought it rebuilt but will be adding nitrous in a few days. I have flowmasters on it but still have the stock cats on it with 2-1/4" H pipe. Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks, Steve
zex is better, if your gunna get nos go with a wet system it is safer and more power, and go with the spark plugs with a high temp rating regular spark plugs tend to overheat and turn into glowplugs witch just cuases air/fuel to pre-ignite, get atleast premium fuel as well if you go with more than 125hp shot get race fuel
