1999 cobra convertible could use some advice on what are the best headers and mufflers to put on and match it with bassani x pipe no cats. Also i know this sounds to good to probably be true but have the system not so loud with power (Dont need cops pulling me over)

The best way to keep it quiet would be to go with a catalytic x-pipe. Aside from that, I have heard a 98 cobra with a full bassani exhaust system and it sounded wicked, kinda like an exotic. Anyway, thats my 2 cents

You could get some Dynomax Super Turbos, they give a good low rumble without being obnoxious, even with an off road mid pipe. Or you could get some Flowmaster Hushpower mufflers and be even more quiet.

Does money play a role?

You can go with some really high quality Ford Racing Shorty Headers, Magnaflow/Bassani Catted X, and a Magnaflow catback. Magnaflow is a decently quiet setup unless you get on it. When you get on it, it will scream pretty loud.


To be honest though, the 4V heads flow so well that the headers are kind of a waste. The gains will be very minimal unless you go with a power adder.
