I am partial to the centrifugal blowers, since I have 214,00 miles with a blower. Like what was said before, it all depends on what you demand from your car. The Roots type and screw type blower produces gobs of torque right out of the hole, so tire spin is almost second nature, unless you have a heavier car, then that would be the better choice. The Vortech/Paxton setup for a street car is more productive and doesn't put more of a beating on the internals and drivetrain (a la driveshaft, u-joints, rear end,
trans) and with belt slippage, makes more sense for the street so the tires don't go up in smoke (right away) and increase with rpm.
I have a few friends with Eaton/Saleen/SVO blowers on their rides and they like them, too. ATI and Powerdyne also have supercharger setups for the street. It's all about preference of driving style... Just don't go too far with boost unless you buildup the bottom end!
