I looked on the events calendar and was kind of disappointed to see very few shows or events involving mustangs in California. There were only a few events in Southern CA.

At the end of last summer I went to the cobra club event at Sears Point. I must say it was the coolest event I've ever attended. All kinds of Cobras, GT's, Shelby GT's, SHO's, a couple GT40's....a pure Ford event.

No cover and one could walk around in the pits and check out the cars and talk to the owners. Lots of hot road racing setups. Some of these cars could really move around the track. There was some action going on at the drag strip too....but I didn't get a chance to check that out.

Some of these extremely valuable antiques were being pushed pretty hard around the track.

Anyway....my beef is that this event and the famous "Hot August Nights" in Reno were not on the events calendar. I've seen some dozens of hot Shelby's sold at the auction in Reno.

I don't know the exact dates for these events and was trying to find out. Hopefully someone will update and beef up the calendar with more than just east and mid-west events.

The events calendar was just put online with what we currently had scheduled. We are working as fast as possible to add as many Ford/Mustang events as we can locate. There is an option on each calendar for you to submit events you would like to have added. Please use this form and we add them within 24 to 48 hours.

Hot "August Nights in Reno" event is already in our Mid West Regional Events Calendar and has been for some time now. Here is the link:

I think we may have mislabeled it since it is entered in our Calendar as "Hot Reno Nights" and having just checked their website, I see it is referred to as "Hot Auguest Nights".

West Coast Regional Calendar - Mini-Nats XIX Aug 31 - Sept 1

I thought it was a strange event name but that is how it was referenced on their website, if this indeed the same event. In looking into this, I also discovered the "Fall Classic Open Track
October 26-27, 2002" listed on Nor Cal Shelby Club website. I still have to add this to our events calendar but am wondering if this might be the event you are refering to.

Scott look at the date that he wrote that...it was 05-21-2002 over 3 months ago....don't know how it got up front like that unless it was because i changed the name or something
