1) If I'm understanding you correctly, the problem happens for you on one computer, but not another, even when logged into the same account on each?

Only working with one computer.

2) This is probably a silly question, but did you completely close down all browsers are clearing your cookies/cache?

I have done that and one time I can get in to 'my posts' and the next time I cannot

3) Keep in mind that certain site functions, like New Posts, are treated by the system as searches, so if one of those has been done recently, it would count as a "search."

This has occured whether I have recently posted or not recently posted. I may have just entered the site and gone to my posts to see which has had activity.

Let me know if this is correct/helps at all.
Hope this is all of some use.

Hi Boomyal,

Regarding question #3, I'm actually referring not to the act of posting, but clicking on the "New Posts" link to see who else has posted since your last visit. Many functions, like that one, are treated by the system as searches, since they go through the search system. And since a lot of people click that link every time they visit, and early in their visit, I was just wondering if perhaps you'd clicked it before trying to access the "My Posts" option, as it might explain the problem.

The fact that it works on one computer and not another points to some sort of browser issue. It's possible your cache isn't clearing properly for some reason. As a general rule, when something works on one computer but not another, the computer itself almost always plays a role, otherwise the problem would be consistent across both of them. You said you're using the newest version of IE at work, where the problem is; I assume that's IE 8? Any chance they'd let you install a copy of Firefox there to see if the problem is the computer, or just the browser?

I just entered the site. I did not have to log in as I have it 'remember' me. To get it to 'remember me' I have to retain the cookies for this domain. I went straight to 'my posts' and got the 15 second message. I had not been on the site for over an hour.

I'm only working with one computer. It is my home computer using IE7. I have no difficulties with other sites doing all the same thing.

I also have not gone to 'new posts', don't even know where it is. There are always a bunch 'latest posts, on display, at the top of the forum catagories, when I enter the site. I don't have to 'open' anything to display those.
