Jason is quite right.
The system is designed so that once a post has been made to a thread, the poster has a limited amount of time to edit the post. Once that time limit has passed, the poster can no longer edit/change the post and would then need to request one of our moderators to make it for them.
One of the main reasons why forums are set up this way is because when other members make subsequent posts they often reference previous posts in the thread. If there were no "edit" time limit set, the content and context of posts throughout a given thread could be changed at will, at any given time. If this were permitted, it would easily result in corrupting the integrity of the thread and often rendering the thread as disjointed and meaningless.
Please advise if there is something you would like changed in one of your posts where you are no longer able to "edit" yourself. I or one of our moderators should be able to
make the change(s) for you.
We realize this process is somewhat inconvenient but unfortunately it is necessary in order to protect the integrity of the forums database.
