The HC Trap or HD Trap is in the black hose. If you remove the clamp next to the air intake, use needle nose plyers and work the silver honeycomb back and forth, it will findly come out. I removed mine and the sound changed to more of a deeper drone. This drive to Vegas is a two part drive. First, by removing the HD Trap, is the mpg the same or better and the gaming. On the way back I will be putting the HD Trap back in to test mpg with it. Hope this helps.
I DID remove the entire tube, from the top of the aircleaner, to the motor,,,, nothing inside........ maybe they forgot to put it in???

I do believe I read in a post somewhere that the HC trap was intentionally left out on the GT's ........ Hmmmmmm......
20 minutes after searching...........Yup I'm not removing mine without a tune......Read this......
" Xcalibrator with HC filter removed HC filterThe next modification done was removing the Hydrocarbon filter right after the MAF sensor . This piece adds a fairly large restriction in the air inlet. Other tests have show removing this piece without a tune will actually cause the car to lose power. This is due to the ETC system and can be taken care of within the tune. I can't stress how important it is for the 2005 Mustang to get a tune whenever any modification is made. Removing the HC filter provided additional 10rwhp and 9rwtq when combined with the SCT tune. That brings the new numbers to 272 rwhp / 297 rwtq. "
I got the ZFX , Z 2 and Z 5 wax......makes a big difference ..... Take a look at the guys site that turned me on to Zaino..... http://nino.dnsalias.org/carwash/

I finally got the call I've been waiting for this afternoon. Frank, my ever patient dealer, received my car this morning! He called to say that he just got back from taking my car for gas, and that the mechanics were now all "test driving" it- Friday afternoon fun he said. They are leaving it in the garaged for the night, and I can be there at 10am when they open tomorrow to pick her up!
11 weeks to the day- how about that? I promise pictures as soon as I get my blackout panel and the sequential tail lights installed tomorrow!
this might be off topic but i saw the legend lime and it made me think, i just got back from ordering my 2006 mustang at the dealership, and on the color chart for 2006 the legend lime was still available, i thought it wasnt going to be?

From what I saw on this and other forums, what it was supposed to happen was that for 2006 Ford would have again offered Legend Lime but with a different denomination: "Lime Gold".
I guess this renaming idea was caused by the fact that the closest (I would say pretty much the same actually) color to LL offered in the old days (exactly for model years '67, '68 and '69. If you'd like to check them out, this is the best link I ever found: http://www.svs.com/zim/mustang/colors.html )
was indeed called "Lime Gold".
But perhaps Ford's management thought it was kinda silly just changing the name and not the color and stuck with Legend Lime...
which is fine by me !
