On 12/22/2004, I decided it was time to trade in my 2001 Mustang for a 2005 GT Coupe. After going to half the dealerships in the Dallas area, I found exactly 1 that was a manual. That dealer wanted 5K over MSRP, and would not budge, so I walked. The next day, I went to the rest of dealers in Dallas, and couldn't find a thing. I arrived at what was literally the last dealer in the area, drove through the lot, and saw no GTs. I was about to drive away, when I saw the Legend Lime GT go cruising by, with a temp tag in the window. I waited around a bit, and they pulled into the dealer. It was being taken out on it's maiden voyage!!
Well, it was the exact color of my '71, and a shade lighter then my '69, and ir was a stick! This had to be mine! They originally wanted 3K over MSRP, but got them down to sticker, and a good trade in on the 01!
The only problem now is that the wife gives me a hard time that the car gets more attention then her!
I'm sure glad I hadn't been ro any web sites, or read any articles on how hard these cars are to get, or I may never have looked!
Ahhhhh, ignorance truly IS bliss!
