paid When I finally ordered my GT on Dec 9th, 2004 the Ford website was advertising an interest rate of 2.9% for the Mustang. A few weeks later, Ford removed the rate from the Mustang and replaced it with an asterisk on their listing of available financing for 2005 models.
I knew right then and there that was a bad sign.
When the car finally arrived in April of 2005, the rate that Ford was offering was 8.9% and the finance manager acted like this was a good deal. Eventhough, all of the other new 2005 vehicles were 0.9 to 2.9%. So, in my opinon Ford was just trying to squeeze every last penny from their customers.
I asked the finance manager what happened to the 2.9% rate that they were offering when I ordered the car. He claimed that they've never offered a rate that low for the Mustang. So I pulled out a printout of the rates from their website I made when I ordered the car, handed it to him and watched him eat crow.
I then picked up my phone, called my bank, transferred some funds and wrote the guy a check. Thanking him for wasting my time for filling out a plethora of financing approval forms when I asked specifically what the rate was for the vehicle before we ever started.

Three bits of good news:
1. Got a letter from Ford saying my contract has been fulfilled and is
paid in full.
2. Got the title in the mail while I was out of town for Christmas
3. Got approved for the license plate I wanted, just before I left
YES OFCR

That's ok, my car is
*verrrrry * stealthy. Hardly
anyone would notice it, either driving or in a parking lot
As long as they are both blind and deaf or possibly more than 100 yards away.
