my payments are done in 7 months but thats good i guess
What happens is, January rolls around and you make your last payment, right after Christmas. You are broker (look at that, a brand new word) than you have been since college amd it is so snowy, you can only shovel a path out to the garage to look at your car. Maybe start it just to hear *your* car for the very first time.
I was so happy when I got the title. I read all the tiny, sub-microscopic words, on the back and everything. Each, legal-speak, mumbo-jumbo word was lilting song to my ears.
When I put the title in the locking file cabinet, I came across the initial registration that said my Mustang was a two door sedan.
I paid mine off a couple months ago... about 2 years after I bought it (April 2005). The original plan was to take the proceeds from a real estate deal and pay it off a long time ago (in 2005), but the deal went sour on me. My timing just sucked... haha.

USAA offers a "pre-commissiong" loan for 25,000 at 2% interest to ROTC students. So yes, I paid off my car in that my name is on the title (i've never felt so baller before until i wrote a single check for $23,550.71) ... but no, its not paid off in that usaa gets to dip into my checking account for the next 5 years
USAA insures my car and house. I have my credit card through them and one investment. Funny, I liked the way the all-black card *looked* better. You just can't please some people.
Couriered my money order for payment in full November 10th/06 and received my Stang from the shipper November 29th.

I have 3.9% for 60 months. I am already about 8 months ahead of schedule on my payment because i plug away approx 5-800 a month. But currently i am letting the cash sit and fester in my savings account and pay off the last chunk like $5,000 all at once and get it over with. I would have much less to pay off if it wasn't for the sky high insurance i have.
