I see a couple of you guys have me beat. I'm just at 2-years and have 2,900 miles. My wife doesn't get it. I drove it today but it's starting to get cold, and will put it away soon. I have a couple of winter projects planned so will still have fun with it. Happy Thanksgiving!

Is "Garage Royalty" based on miles per year? What is the disqualifying number?

There's a GT500 in a showroom near here that hasn't moved a foot in eight months - that I know of.

I brought mine home a bit less than 13 months ago. During the first year it racked up 4,367 miles, a monthly rate of about 364. Never been out in the rain, and seldom after dark, while in my custody. Garaged every night, and usually covered even then. Washed, clay-barred, polished, waxed once, washed, polished waxed once more. The end.

One year this coming Monday since I brought it home...almost 6,000 miles on it...only drive it home and to see the fiance (65 miles one way either way you cut it, so it's an unfair racking up of mileage I suppose....). Plus, the car accumulated big mileage in the dealer trade from West Virginia, and the trip to the AFM get together in KY didn't help mileage either. Oh, and by the way....that trip home was the ONLY time I was caught in the rain....3 STRAIGHT HOURS once I hit the Ohio border...Non...Stop...Rain...the...ENTIRE...Trip.. .home. Talk about the worst time to get caught in something, right?

When it comes home from any trip, I garage it and cover it....everytime. The next day is cleaning day to make sure that all the bugs and road dirt an dust are cleaned off, washed, and ready for sleep until the next trip.

I love cruising long distances in it. Short junk is just unnecessary wear and tear for my lady.

Am I in? Any votes? I want to be legit about this...

If it is driven almost every day - then no, even if it is garaged every night. Can't be a daily driver and be a garage queen. (Could still be a pampered pet, though, and there's nothing wrong with that).

And not being a daily driver should result in fairly low mileage. But I didn't set any hard and fast mileage limits, as I feel AFM posters will be honest about whether they actually consider their own car a garage queen.

So, then, it's not that there is such a thing as a garage queen, but that someone considers his/her own car to be a garage queen.

When I sit working at my computer and realize it'll be more than a week before I take the Mustang to a drag race or autocross on a cruise, I reckon it's a garage queen.

When I'm thrashing it around a course or through the twisties up and down Palomar Mountain, it ain't a garage queen.

It is, and it ain't. And that's the truth.

A garage queen is never "thrashed". I am sorry, but you do not qualify.

But I just cleaned and painted the garage floor to make her home look nicer.

Yeah, I think I am averaging 4 miles per day....but it is not like I drive her daily. I only drive her 2-6 times per month (depending on the month).

That is about how many miles I travel per minute.

Gary - would a "Cover Queen" qualify???

My car doesn't move from under its blanket if there is suspected rain or bad weather in the forecast.

The weather is checked by a widget on my computer, as well as the local news - early in the AM and thirdly, all the previous is reassured by a phone call from my husband at 5 am.

But maybe I don't... We bought it in March and just hit 3k last week.

Your ok - completely normal - I am going to do a complete garage makeover in the spring and even have a theme.

Wait a minute, maybe we do need counseling
