Default my 1995 Mustang gt vs civics...

k, this is my first time posting here. I was wondering if my car could beat these two civics. First of my car is a 95 gt auto with cai, pulleys and 75mm throttle body. These two guys at work have civics one has a civic with a gsr motor the other one has one with an h22. The one with the h22 is the faster of the two. Just wondering if i could beat them or what would i need to beat them in a street race. thanks

An H22 Civic is a different animal than an H22 Prelude is. Also the Fox Body GT's are slightly faster than the SN 5.0's due to weight. I would say that it will be a close race with the H22 and you will probably beat the other Civic. You can't really ask what is needed to beat them if You have no idea what they have done to their engines.

How does this have to do with handling or road racing though?

And a lot of it has to do with the driver. So if you are a better driver than him and even if he had a faster car you could still beat him if you are a better driver.

From what i've seen from my fiends cars, i dont think that you will take either one. My buddy had a gsr civic hatch that was bone stock and could easily beat a gt. Like cmaurer1 said, the H22 in a civic is a completely different story than a prelude.

If you three were all equal in driving skills, I would say the civics would win. You didn't say what year or model the civics were but all civics are really light. I used to have a turboed 95 civic coupe 5spd that wieghed 2300lbs with me in it and full interior. At 3lbs of boost during the break in on the turbo, it was probably putting down around the same kind of HP these other cars are, I could smoke most any Mustang gt that wasn't heavily modded. Before I turboed it or did anything to the civic I took it to the local strip and beat a 98GT with a manual transmission, an example that the driver can make or break the car or the race.

Nothing against mustangs I love em look at what forum i'm on, plus to get my civic as fast as it was I dumped 13K into the motor(waste of money on that car). If I put 13 grand into the motor on my mustang I don't think any civic could touch my ass.

Race em you never know they could suck ass at driving, weather you win or not it would still be fun, don't put any money on it though.

Good luck!!! Post race results.

Did you lighten your car quite a bit?
The mid-90s stock Civic that I had on my truck scale weighed in at 2700 and change, sans driver. My Mustang II had him beat by 200 lbs, which really ticked off the owner. (and I do have 13k in my motor/trans.. )

Come here, little civics..

not enough info..

what kind of civics? year? model?

straight line or road course?

suspension work?

im gonna assume you mean straight line since you said street race.

if these are in EG hatch's you will lose to both

H22's run high 12's low 13's unmodified in some civics
GS-R's run mid 14's slightly lower in some models

i ran high 14's in my old civic hatch with a B16 in it, and thats only 170 hp
GS-R-184hp
H22-200-220 depending on which model

Ah, he's talking about street racing them, so they'd likely be on radials.
