I've never done track days with this organization...only NASA. They require a tow hook or towing point on the car, and I have no such mod to my S197. Is there some point on the car that will serve, or am I risking a disqualification? Anyone know how strict they are on this point?

I don't know anything about Speed Ventures but it is a damn good idea to have the tow hooks. I will be more than happy to show you how my cage builder installed mine.
They just want you to know where to hook your car incase you go off and they need to tow you out. They aren't very strict about this rule but if you go off and you don't know where you want your car hooked, the tow truck driver is going is going to find his own spot. In most cases when the driver picks the spot, they do not guarentee against damage.
Relax.....Have you ever been off with NASA? If your just doing open track you should not be in a position to have all 4 off the track...I realize there is always a chance for mechanical failure, but your driving should not put you in a position to be off track. slow down to go faster......... GA

In stalled my tow hooks to prevent any damage from the tow truck. It is a rare event that you would need them and in my 20+ years of track experience, I have never needed them (knock on wood) but I am providing the worker easy access and preventing additional expenses for myself if they would accidentally bend something.
