Default Best lowering springs????

I have an 02 GT and want to get rid of the 4x4 look bad. I was just wondering what brad of springs would give me the best drop (around 1 1/2 to 2 inches). I'm somewhat worried about bottoming out though because I will not be getting new shocks. Should I be worried about that? Whatever input you guys can give me would be greatly appriciated. Thanks a lot.

I'm also a fan of H&R, but I run Eibachs and I love them too, about 1 1/2 drop in front, about inch in back.

I put the Eibach Pro Kit springs on my 02 GT Vert last weekend. Dropped it about 1-1 1/2". Tightened it up considerably but not too much for everyday driving. Prett happy with 'em, so far. I also heard that the Steeda Sports were pretty good.

i have suspension techniques springs...lowered the car about 1 1/2" ..i also added max. motorsports caster/camber plates at the same time..i believe susp.tech. springs are the ones that dugan racing uses on all there project cars too p.s. be careful sitting in the car the first time....i kinda fell into the seat...(not used to it being so low to the ground)

Just something to look for- Make sure that the springs are seated properly or they could possibly collapse in or outward under pressure causing damage to the strut. I had a 2.5" drop on my old honda and one of the springs was not in right. Luckily I noticed before I drove off.

* Whatever you do, dont heat and cut them!

I also have Suspension Techniques Springs installed in my 92 convertible and they lowered the car about 1 1/2" all round. Check my Member Ride's Gallery to see pictures as to how it sits. I have them teamed up with Tokico 5 way adjustables, MM Camber/Caster plates, MM Adj Rear lower control arms and MM panhard bar.

The car looks and handles great! I have not had the car on the track yet so I can only comment that I find the springs an excellent choice for the street and beleive they would also perform well on the track. If you are looking for just the best drop from a set of springs, I would but my money on Suspension Techniques. While they drop your stang into the grass, they also provide a very nice ride.

I too am a fan of H & R springs even though I have never ran them personally. I have heard nothing but good things about them from fellow mustangers who have had first had experience with them.

As long as you stick with a well recognised brand name such as H & R, Eibach, FMS and Suspension Technique you should be ok. I highly recommend you contact a company such as Maximum Motorsports and Griggs, who specialize in aftermarket Mustang performance suspensions and ask their advise. These guys really know their stuff. Just outline what you want to do with your stang suspension wise and let these guys help you fill in the blanks.

I am also moving this thread to our Road Racing, Suspension & Handling forums where it is more appropriately suited. Good luck with whatever you decide.

I never recomend Eibachs, I have seen both front springs in the same box have different spring rates, and not just once. I do not trust thier quality control
