I am debating between the BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW and the Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Position with UNI-T AQII. My '93 GT is strictly for summer use and will RARELY see rain. I do not plan on racing the car. Which tire do you think is better? Thanks.
I would go with the BFGs by personal experience and because of the type of driving you will be doing. The Potenzas would be a better wet traction tire probably though.
I have BFG g-Force T/A KDWS, and I love them. They are more for all weather but still great. If I was you and the car was rarely going to see rain, I would get BFG g-Force T/A KD. They are for dry ground.
Have you looked at the kumho brand of tires i just put a set on my 2001 pathfinder and i can't say enough about them. i drive pretty aggressively and they feel like your riding on rails take a look. KUMHO STX. not a bad price either.
I personaly would go with Michilen radials but,if I had
to pick between those two I would go with the BF
Goodrich T/A's over any bridgestone/firestone tire
any day.I will never forgive firestone for what they
did to the Ford Explorers' rep. because it one awesome
SUV in my opnion.

I love my Bridgestone Protenza's and I have had great luck eith Fireston Firehawks. just remeber that Ford sent out Explorrrer's with 24psi in the tires.....
Potenzas sucked for me, didn't last that long.
BFG g-force KDWs are not cheap, but work very well for dry surfaces.
Kumho Ecsta MXs are great for the price.
All these are for DRY weather mainly. None of the previous should be driven on in wet weather!
Toyos are awesome. Nittos=same.
For the street and daily driving, I would get the Nitto Extreme 555s, just in case someone waters thier yard or a sprinkler breaks or it happens to rain one time...

Originally posted by Twister as for long wear, my proteza's have 20K on them and have about 10K left, and that is great for me, I have had nitto's last 8K....
Were the Nittos you had the 555 series?
The Potenzas I had only lasted 4K, I was going to replace them at 5K, but flat spotted al four when my then factory brakes with Performance Friction pads decided to lock and stay locked as I skipped over two sets of train tracks and blew through a red light. Luckily noone was hurt by that extremely stupid display on my part... I now have BAER 13/12 discs and stand by them. I guess it really depends on the driving conditions, weather and type of driving you do... I have had best luck with others that were much more cost effective, since I go through rears faster than fronts. Fronts wore out faster when I lived on the other side of Angeles Crest Highway (twisties!) canyon roads rule! At least when it's not snowing!

I agree with the Kumho MXs. Very sticky and not too expensive. Not usually stocked though so you need to plan ahead and order them. I have only had mine for several months, so I cannot say how well they age.
Yokohama AVS ES100s are also touted by local dealers as an inexpensive, sticky tire.

I have Yoko AVS ES100's on my car now, I switched them right after I got the car and love them. the traction is supberb when its dry, the tires are so sticky when its warm that I have had my tires crusted with pretty good sized rocks when I stop. when its wet, traction is pretty good if you keep your rear tire pressure down around 30-34 PSI. I paid 135 for 255's and 145 for 275's, which was a bit cheaper than Kumo's. Plus, these are an ultra high performance tire.
