Until you strip down the fox. IIRC yhe fox has the shortest wheelbase and is wider than the 1st gens.

What about the 94/95 mustangs, better chasis in my opinion, and it has the 5.0 in it.

I actually have and race both a fox body stang 1988 saleen#28 and a 1965 fast back.

If I were to choose one it would be the 1965.
to set the car up was actually cheaper.
I just did a uper control arm relocation and added a adjustable mount to the lower control arm. front and rear springs and a front and rear sway bar.subframe connectors and a monte carlo bar. the 65 weighs in at 2800 lbs

I ran the fox for a wile stock but it had issues.

installed a k member, it helped alot but then the rear end was extremly limiting. it would bind when loaded then overcenter and you were guarnteed to spin out. ended up going to a torque arm. then had to add coilovers to get the spring rates high enough for the torque arm to operate correctly.
the fox weighs in at 3000
the fox I would not be able to get 1/8 of what I got into it if I were to sell her.
the 65 I could probably to get 1/2 out of it when I go to sell her

Thats kinda what i was thinking, too. Plus, the 65 is easier to work on.

yea I would trade my fox for an 1969 or 70 that was just streetable and start the track mods all over. Thats for sure yea I have a lot tied up in it but when I go to an event redline or nasa in my 65 I get alot of attention especially the redline events tons of cameras!!! I love attention. http://alltimeracing.com/v2/images/z...s/IMG_0743.jpg

yep, that's kinda what I'm looking for, a 69-70 coupe or fastback. Plenty of room inside, and plenty of room under the hood, plus killer looks

One thing that hasn't come up in any of these posts is to clarify what you mean by "racing". If you are really thinking about racing in SCCA or something like NASA, the first thing you need is to understand the classes available, and then get a copy of the rule book. You don't want to spend money building a "racecar" only to find out its not legal for the type of racing you envision. If what you really have in mind is a car to enjoy on a race track during track days or club open-track events, then you can do what ever you want, and whatever suits your personal tastes & budget. You can build a decent-handling vintage or Fox stang for not too much money. Re-sale value will depend on who sees your ad. How much is this car worth? "Its worth exactly what the highest bidder will pay for it".

Good luck

SN-95 cars 94-04 are still Foxchassis (FOX4 is their other name) which is why all there crap up to the NEw edge fit foxbodies.

Honestly a Mustang II double wishbone front suspension kit will improve handling, a track lock or some other LSD in your 9 inch with a numerically high gear ratio like 2:73 or3:08 either a 3-link(like S197s), a for- link or a tracbar(like Camaros 3rd gen-4th) have and a watts-link will get you right. Then ther is the Truck arm suspension or you can keep the leave sprung setup. Hotchkis has performnce leaf springs that are single leaf maybe toss on som,e slapper bars to reuce axle wrap.
