What suspension setup would you recommend is best for my 90lx (5.0)? Manufacture and which products for using in American Iron?

Doug-

Any of the kits from Maximum Motorsports, Griggs Racing, or perhaps Steeda would do a great job transforming your car from Fairmont handling to Ferrari finesse. I have race with both Griggs and MM and they both are great systems.

How hardcore do you want to go?

THere are many many different manufactures that you can choose from...the best thing to do is talk extensively to everyone you can about what you want from the car and how much are you able to spend also drive as many possibilities that you can. The key is to find a system that works with your driving style and your comfort range.

Is there one real recommended vendor that in your opinions produce better results if price is not a factor?

Doug, that's a loaded question....but as the competition has shown for the past couple of years the Griggs Racing Products and the Maximum Motorsports products have been on top.

I currently use a full Griggs GR40 suspension for my 1993 Mustang Cobra. I have been using this suspension for nearly 5 years and I am very happy with the performance, durability and the adjustability.

I agree with Brian. I only have experience with Griggs and MM and both are top-notch. There will be some Steeda cars running in the East and Midwest this year, so we will know a bit more about those systems as they come along.

Still, talk to the shops and see what they say. They are all very helpful and happy to talk to folks about their products. You should also see if you can shag a ride in cars equipped with the systems you're considering.

Since I'm fixin to modify my car for racing, I've asked the same questions. The manufacturers I'm sure are into hardcore racing are Max. Moto., Griggs, Steeda, Roush and HP Motorsports. But Kenny Brown used to build chassis for Saleen, and last I talked with Kenny Brown they were thinking about becoming involved in Grand-Am. Brothers Performance also sells all things Mustang, so you could ask them in addition. A good approach would be to decide how you want to use the car and stick with one manufacturer to avoid set-up conflicts.

I have the Kenny Brown setup on my car full AGS level 5 and really like it but not sure if I had it to do all over again if I would go with them since from all the hardcore racers I hear much more about Griggs and MM although I have had no problems or complaints with the Kenny Brown products (except I broke my pan-hard rod and they replaced for free) but again I've only used this setup on the street so far not really put it under had load of some track events.
