For those that live in the TX/OK/AR/LA, etc areas, we are working with NASA-TX on these 3 classes. We have a sizeable group of folks that are ready, or nearly ready, to join the series.
If you have ANY interest in these classes, please contact me asap! Also, share the message with anyone who might be interested. We need Mustangs, Camaros, Firebirds - old iron, new iron, etc. We are very interested in expanded the racing field.
Even if your car isn't fully legal for the class, with the exception of safety rules, please contact me. We are being extremely lenient with certain rules for the remaining '03 season, and possibly '04. The reason - to get people on the track, and get more exposure to the series. Keep in mind, however, if your car is not fully CMC, AI, or AIX legal, you will not be permitted to accumulate points.
What's your northern most race this year? Who knows, maybe some of us mid-west guys will drive south for a race....

I'd probably be interested, but I'd probably be buiding a... Camaro (there, I said it! ) for it. Mainly because it's next to impossible to find a clean 79-93 5.0 Mustang for less than $3500, finding 82-92 V8 Camaros in that price range that aren't ragged-out or modified out the @$$ is much easier.

Also have a 2003 Dodge Ram (lightly modded daily driver/tow rig/office/dining room/home away from home/workshop... I call it "The Big Blue Dawg".)

Yes, it would be cheaper, but don't you want to win?

I could buy and build a winning Camaro for about $4000 total investment, a winning Mustang would be $6000+ This ain't California or New York, most of the 5.0 Mustangs that are for sale here have been attacked by rednecks and aren't really worth buying.
Why do you think I don't have/haven't had one?

The northern most race is pretty far south.
MSR south of Fort Worth. Not sure how far a drive that would be for you Scott, but if you want to come down, you've got a place to stay for free.
Next NASA event is August 2-3, but I'm not sure how many spaces are left. Let me know if your really interested, and I'm sure we can work something out. Bring your beast, and run AIX - you'll win as there isn't another car in that class as far as I know ( but don't hold me to that ).
74stang2togo - you'd be surprised how many decent 5.0 cars can be found in the DFW area for the less then the $$$ you quoted. Check out this place and look in the For Sale section. Lots 'o stuff in there.....
Yeah, but I mean I'd have less than $4,000 TOTAL to invest... The only fox-body I found at the site you mentioned above for less than what my total investment could be is wrecked.
I need a solid, eligible, and un-molested car.
I can get a Camaro that meets that criteria for much less.
Which will leave more money to prep it for competition.
