From what I have gathered, the main sanctioning body is the SCCA, right? Then the easier racing to get into, or to start with in CA is the Solo competitions, which anyone can do with an SCCA membership and membership in another club (i think).

So how does one get into some real racing? Any So Cal novice racers out there that can hook a brutha up with some info?

SCCA is the main sanctioning body like you said. I used to be a volunteer worker for the SCCA. And I do believe that SCCA does do the solo competions if my memory serves me right. I know that SCCA holds events at Willow Springs Raceway and another track called Buttonwillow. I would go on the SCCA web site and I am sure there is alot of info on there as far as getting started. I also know that Willow Springs holds driving schools at the track. Good Luck

are you looking to do solo II ??

If you want to get into road racing there are a couple of venues that do time trials and do not require liscense or extreme mods to your car. Redline time attack has a very fun events at both buttonwillow raceway and california speedway. then theres nasa who also does time trials.
