Default advice on suspension for 1995 Mustang V6 vert

ok so i have a 95 v6 mustang which is auto which sucks i know. i am eventually dropping in a 331 but am doing the suspension first. i just purchased a set off ford racing c springs for a great price. can any one help me out on a good strut shock combo that would be good to use? i would like something that is going to give me the most bang for my buck. im also going to be getting full length subframe connectors and cc plates.

any advice or tips anyone could give me would be greatly appriciated as to being new and wanting to get into this.

A set of Strange Engineering's shocks & struts would be a good call on your 95'. Also, I strongly suggest that you get a complete set of polyurethane suspension bushings to replace all of the worn out rubber bushings, it's a huge improvement.

^Good advice. I have the C springs currently I am wanting to replace them soon though. They are ok for every day driving but they don't help a lot for handling purposes. I have the Tokico Mach 1 shocks and they helped out more than the C springs did. lol If you want some real handling springs look at H&R springs, they are good good springs.

Full length SFC are good and you will need CC plates if you drop any lower as well as the Extended ball joints from Steeda and the bump steer kit too. Get a rear sway bar from a GT, it will work better than the one that you have on the car right now. You should have one on the car if it is a 95 but it is a smaller one than the GT sway bar and doesn't help out as much. I can give you much much more advice on the suspension. How deep do you want to go into it? I like handling more than hp and the V6 has a much better weight distribution than the V8 does.

I would look at steeda for your suspension products

^True story. I only use Steeda parts on my car. I think that Griggs and MM way overcharge for their parts. Although, if I could afford Griggs I would go for them in a heart beat... lol

What you should do is look ahead , buy a shock and strut set , then a coil over kit to put on later. Remeber do the research , most good coil over kits are for bilstien or koni and will only fit that brand. I am doing my 94 in steps. Bilstiens with springs, then when I have the $$ I will buy the coil over kit. I like MM you get what you pay for. I have always liked what I got from MM. Check out stang suspension you can get a better price on the MM stuff. They also have there own brand for cheap. Get rear lower control arms too it will be a big improvement

Well, converting a 6 cylinder to an 8 is really an engineering and financial stretch...you'd be better off selling the 6 and buying an 8...the base platform is much better for mods...if you just have to live with what you have, subframe connectors are a big improvement in the suspension/ride of the car...I have them on my 1996 cobra (steeda chromemoly), also the koni coilovers and matching springs will have it handling like it's on rails...17" rims and high performance tires are needed too...look for stuff on Ebay, lots of new part takeoffs and low prices will get you rolling...

Been real happy with my Eibach-KYB setup on my '96 Cobra. Eibach Pro Kit springs and KYB AGX Adjustable shocks/struts.

i would suggest to with with a full kit instead of piece by piece and am leaning more towards eibach due to the engineering quality. There are many great brands out there though and feel it is more personal preference than anything. spring rate is spring rate wether it is eibach or steeda.
