Default Tubular K-member

Hey All,
I was wondering if any of you had Tubular or aftermarket K-frames for the SN95's. I was looking into them and wondered if they actually perform better or if its just hype. I will change it when i put on my Steeda G-trac suspension kit so i'll have it all apart anyway.how much lighter is it from stock, Im dealing with a convertible thats close to 4100 pounds. all the aluminum control arms in the world arent going to help, but maybe i can shave it down a few lbs. Just wondering if any had any reccomendations or complaints for em. Price wont be an issue since im saving up a long time to get the right and best quality stuff.
Thanx

Griggs is probably the best but it's made dough. The D&D one is nice too but there having shipping problems right now. I don't have one but eventually I will. Stay away from Ground Pounder products (CCM). Those are made with cheap parts from China. Plus they have a bad rep. It will lighten up your 4100 pound beast a bit.

I just went through a bit of a hassle with D&D Motorsport about their k frame so I wouldn't order from them right now, if ever. But a k frame can shave about 100#'s off the front end of a Stang. Griggs and Kenny Brown probably have the best ones out there. They redesign the suspension geometry by adding 1" to the wheel base and they allow for the car to be dropped an extra 1" without serious consequences. I think they aren't hipe cuz I've read from others about the before and after and they all say it's night and day difference. My take is to spend the $$ and go with one of the above. Plus you'll need to go with 4-bolt cc plates if you go with a coil over kit.

does the K-frame make it where you have to use coil overs? that is of no interest to me, i just wanted to lighten it up and stiffen the suspension.

No. You can get spring purchs installed where you can run the stock type modified McPherson suspension. I'm not too sure who does it exactly but it can be done, I've seen it. I'm guessing but I think Racerwalsh has one that you can do this. BTW, why not go with a coil over kit? It will just add to a better handling car. Anyway, the tubular k frame with do both, lighten the front end and stiffen the chassis.

i have a HAL, and it fit up great. It lengthened my wheelbase a bit, and saved alot of weight. I am running an SLA so i dont know about suspension mounts.

AJ,
What do you think about the quality of the HAL frame? I heard some bad stuff about them breaking and that their quality is crappy since they're the same frame as the Ground Pounder one. I live in NYC and the roads are harsh so I want a strong frame.
Thanks!
