So if the only thing that the rear brakes do is grip when the E-Brake is set, aka parking, then why do people upgrade thier rear brakes?
Also is there a kit out there that will let me brake with all four wheels and not just the front two or would that be suicide?

Ther rear brake do a lot more than the e-brake function. The rear brakes do aproxx. 20-30%(or more) of the braking. By upgrading the rear brake will give you better control. Mainly the drum brakes have a non-lineir control factor(they don't work good at high speed but work better when the wheels are turning slower )where as the disk brakes work just as well at any speed.
By upgrading the brakes from stock makes the fine line between locking your wheels and controled stopping easier to find
A good brake set up will have the front wheel lock up a split-second before the rear wheels. Hence the brake bias ajusters

I had no idea about that. I was under the impression that it was only an e-brake thing due to the fact that I heard so talk of flooring it then step on the brake to burn burn burn rubber. I guess that would just over power the stock rear brake and burn them up as well as the tires. Looks like a loose loose situation. Thanks for the info, how important do you think upgrading the rear is? Should I save up and get both front and back or should I just get the front when I do and do the rear down the raod?

Get the M-2300-K kit. It's the 93 Cobra R brake pakage. It's a little expencive. But well worth the money for a complete bolt on. It has everything. Literaly. Check it out. Summit sell it for less than $1800.

I have one too I love it:hearton:
Have you up-graded the rotors yet Twister? I'm thinking about it. But I don't drive the car enough

I had them drilled before they went on the car, over 20,000 miles later, same pads all the way around
Just have to make one correction. The 2300-K brake kit is the same as the 94-98 Mustang Cobras or the 1995 R model but not the same as the 93R. That car used the rear brakes off the 89-91 Lincoln Continental. They are thicker rotors but smaller in diameter then the current Cobra set up. I know this as I own a 93R.

It's when you step on the brake peddal and very little or nothing happens. It normaly happen when you been useing the brake harder than normal and the rotor heats up too much. Vapors/gasses from the brake pads get trapped between the rotor and the pad giving very little stopping power
