Default Duck Bill Spoiler

I bought my 05GT used and it already had a duck bill spoiler on the rear. Looks good but I was wondering if this type of spoiler has any aerodynamic value and at what speed do you think it would become active. I do some open track, have been up to a buck twenty+ and have not really noticed a happy rear. I also have not driven a car with a proven wing so I dont have anything to compare to. Most of the time the cornering speeds seem to be slow enough that downforce does not seem to be an issue. Is it worth going to a proven race wing? GA

The term you are looking for on that is "duck tail" spoiler. My understanding is that those spoilers (as well as the stock wings) don't do a whole lot for performance but are basically for looks. A wing like on the FR500C cars would be what you would need to get some results.

Usually your aero package is the last thing you modify. You'll get alot more performance out of tires, suspension, and engine mods.
