Default 1965 Mustang coupe set up for HPDE events

Well after thinking about it after the sale of my 66 fastback ..i picked up a 65 coupe setup like the old transam cars of the 60`s ..it has a 351 cleveland toploader box and a 9 inch out back with a locker in it ..it also has 4 piston disc brakes up front with 2 1/5 inch drum setup out back ,it has the shelby drop up front with koni shocks all round as well as an adjustable panard rod.. big fender fares to cover 15 x 8.5 up front and 15x 10`s out back ....all this for 4k..i love it cant wait to get it to the track

I've toyed with doing the same type of thing.
I've raced Mustangs since 1990 with SCCA and NASA.

Look under Tirerack.com. Go to Products, then tires, then Kumho, Hoosier, Yokohama, and BFGoodrich (interesting the BFG T/A tire was a sponsor of TransAm, but didn't have a tire for the series till the late 90's) I used Kumho's back in the early 90's and BFG R-1 before that. I use Hoosier now, as I get a deal on them. I use slicks on my current car, but the A-6 or R-6 are great "Race" compoung tires. Not for day to day use, and kinda pricey.
R-6 will last a bit longer than A-6's on road courses.
If you want a daily driver tire, the Kumho MX is good choice and still decent on the track.

Good luck with a 295 15. To keep the look of the era, 275 should be more than wide enough.
