Thumbs up New Passport G-Timer

I've searched the forums and nobody seems to have posted anything about Escort/Passport G-Timer yet
http://www.escortradar.com/gtimer.htm

I'm happy to report that my beautiful wife got me one for X-mas

This accelerometer seems better than the G-Tech because it will measure G's in every direction (measures acceleration, cornering, and braking G-forces, including friction circle), not to mention its time calculations as well (0-60, 1/4 mile).

As I have nothing real world to compare the results to (I haven't been to the track since I moved here and I couldn't measure lateral and braking G's before getting this toy anyway), I'm dying to hear others results and experiences using this, especially to see how long I can hold bragging rights for lateral G's

Lateral G's - 1.11
Braking G's - .96
Acceleration - .64

Griggs stuff is way cool. These aren't even the heavy race springs and I'm dying to try the Nitto 555RII's!!.

Anyway, the G-timer seems to work really well. My only gripes would be that the only memory it has is to save timed runs and not max G's pulled. This forces you to glance at the unit while driving (taking your attention off the road) if you want to read your max G's.

Thanks for the heads up. I have been looking at their ads. Did you get the GT1 or 2?
Do you think it would work as a poor mans dyno? I was wondering if it would be accurate enough for tuning?
Keep us posted.

I got the GT2.

Yes, I think it can work as a poor mans dyno. Though I still need to weigh my car and input it into the unit so it can calculate horsepower.

The 0-60mph times alone seem very accurate and seem to reflect my cars and my consistency or inconsistency.

Lastly, I just read about the new G-Tech Pro competition which seems to do the same as the GT2 plus it can do a drag strip tree and calculate your reaction time and also comes with the data cable for the PC.

Too cool. Now I want one of those.
