yeah, all this will probably work just fine.

The best investment to both fun and achievement is in track time for the loose nut behind the wheel... aka, the driver. )

Seriously, seat time and the willingness to learn and be safe and aware of those around you, their abilities, and your abilities, is the most important thing. If your car isn't done yet, go ahead and go to autocross and High Performance Driving events, like those put on by NASA and the SCCA, and hang out and watch, ask questions, and learn.

As for as other equipment... the most important mods needed for track days is BRAKES!!!!!!!

The most critical is fresh DOT 3/4 fluid, fully bled and tested. Might as well replace rubber brake lines with stainless steel ones before flushing all the old fluid out. Street/Track day pads such as Perf. Friction Carbon Metallic, or Hawk HP+, or EBC, or Porterfield are a big help.

After brakes and tires, the other things that are important are safety and control items like an adjustable clutch quadrant kit, good shifter and steering wheel, pedals, and of course harnesses. (6 point is best, no less than 4 though).
