Default should i buy a wrx wagon or a mustang?

i know that mustangs are known for speed and stuff but i been researching and all i hear about are wrx's like is it expensive to build a <9sec cause it looks like 10 sec or better wrxs are pretty common .... even down in tha 8's

so convince me...

Well, here's my input. I actually got my dad who owns a '94 GT that runs 12.85's @ 106 with stock block, ported stock heads and stock cam, to buy a WRX for his daily driver. Here's my take on the two cars. I've been into the import thing for 5 years until last week when I traded my Civic straight across for my new '94 GT. I had a couple buddies with quick WRX's, one had the STi 2.5L block, ported 2.0 heads, BIG Turbo and UTEC for tuning and was putting out about 450flywheel hp.

First question: Is money an object or not? If you want to go 10's or less in a 4 cylinder awd car, your best bet is to get an EVO or STi, as opposed to the WRX, it will take more work. The EVO is killer. Check out buschurracing.com! They can get you to 11's easy, 10's just take more money, big turbo lag and 9's are only a big NOS bottle away!

A mustang and a WRX/EVO/STi are pretty different in character. The mustang has torque at low rpms, is heavier but more solid feeling too. The 4pots are more nimble, have awd advantages and a little lighter weight. The mustang has much cheaper parts to get you the drag setup. Axles, posi diffs, driveshafts, clutches. The price of parts for mustangs is awesome if you're on a budget. The price for axles (4x), driveshafts, etc. A lot of the parts needed to go super quick in an import are custom. The awd is going to break. The trannies are going to break. Its not that the stang trans won't, its just cheaper and more knowledge is out there to upgrade drivetrain parts and engines. But, I will say the EVO/STi/WRX's are amazing cars and can be super quick, its just going to take lots of money and custom parts and tuning. Either way it takes money and tuning/driving knowledge.

Let us know more of your ideas, budget, etc so we can keep talking about this subject. I like it, having just spent a few years looking into the import stuff.

If you don't buy a Mustang just go ahead and chop off your nuts and put on an apron, get in the kitchen and start knitting sweaters for your nephews or kids!! and buy the wagon so you can become soccer dad team driver. Get a Mustang, burn rubber, while you hear your Stang roar. OHH YEAH!!

I would think by your screen name you already made up your mind on what car you want.

Trying to compare two cars that are in different classes head to head is useless unless you state what you want out of a car and how much you have to spend, once your expectations are known then a head to head comparison actually means something other than a pissing contest that no winner can actually be crowned.

Lol, I just think it's kind of funny how you come on a Mustang forum asking whether you should get a Mustang or some other car.
