Default Best Shocks/Struts For Burning Corners

I've been reading as much as I can on shocks and struts online. The socks on my 98 are about to go out and its driving me nuts.
I've narrowed it down to three options
1. Bilstiens
2. Tokicos Illuminas
3. Koni's

I like the Tokicos because they have the five way adjustability
The Bilstiens I heard about from Maximum Motorsports and they seem to support them, but they also offer two version, one they have specially tuned and the regular sports
Anyone compared the two?

The car is mostly a daily driver although I don't drive much (only have 30k mi) but I love to burn corners alot.

Whats the best shock?

Also why are coilovers prefered, They're recommended left and right but I can't decided if I should get them

I would most likely go with the bilstiens only becauise they are on the 2000R and I love that car so much.

Personally I have the Koni's but the only complaint is my rears are not easily adjustable. Other than that I really like them. (Reds).. One suggestion though is to remember if you are buying lowering springs you want to make sure that what ever struts and shocks you get compensate for the 1 - 1.5 inch shorter throw you will have. In my case my 95 has about a 1" shorter stance with my M5300C springs. So I purchased the fox body Koni's since they were an inch shorter than the ones for the 95 model. Just something to keep in mind.

I like my Tokiko's, however if money was no object, I would have Koni's, they have a great rep for over 35 years...

The thing that conerns me about the Koni Yellows is that you adjust them with that little knob thing, there is no positive stops, (at least that I know about). Which in my mind would make it a pain to adjust between modes, i.e. road racing, drag, and daily driving

You know it amazed me that none of the online order sites, or the parts shops I've spoken with addressed this matter. The only one I found was Max motorspots, and they mention it for the Tokicos, thought that was rather nice of them

Koni Yellows, way to much shock/strut for the street save your money. If you go Koni, stay with the reds.

I like the Bilsteins. Self adjusting and it will take allot to out drive them.

I've always been partial to Konis, but I've heard the FR guys say the billsteins are best . . .

For street use only I'd go with the self-adjusting Bilsteins or for a few bucks less the non-adj Toks... depending on what springs you're matching them with.
If you can afford the Bilsteins go that way.
