Default Need your thoughts on these suspension products

I have a 96 Gt and before I put on a new xpipe i wanted to put on some bbk progressive rate springs and tokiko shocks/struts. I wanted to know what everyone thinks of these products and how my car will react to them. I'm looking for a combination that will give me the best (smoothest) ride while still being able to corner like crazy. Do you think these will get the job done?

Progressive rate springs are the best for you want.

I can't comment on BBK, since I have never had a set. On my 96 GT I used Jamex and loved them! Tokiko shocks/struts are the best, hand down in my opinion.

Careful with BBK. I went round and round with those guys last summer because of their miswelded headers. I know that may be an isolated incident and is unrelated to your spring question but this is just a company FYI. (Although others I have spoken with at car shows have had similar problems with them)

My advice, you get what you pay for. Incidentally, I am in the process of choosing a fresh suspension for my 95 GT as well. I have narrowed it down to Steeda and Eibach with Tokico's.

I am running Tokico 5 way adjustables with Suspension Technique progressive rated springs in my 1992 ragtop. The ride is firm but nice and smooth. Ride height has dropped about 1 1/2 inches and now sits level on all 4 corners. The combination works great on the street and even better in the corners. I am very pleased with this combination.

I cannot comment specifically on BBK's progressive rate springs since I have never owned a set. I have however heard good things about Steeda's progressive rate springs. Tokico's are an excellent choice and so are progressive rate springs for your application.

Good luck with your decision and happy cornering

Thank you for the all the comments so far guys, I love this forum

So I'm thinking that springs are probably like most of the other modifications I've done so far, and you really do get what you pay for. Does anyone have some good sites for checking out the springs eibach and steeda have to offer? I know of steeda's website, but I only saw one listing on there for springs and don't remember them being progressive rate so wondering if they're somewhere else or if I'm just blind.

Check out stangnet. That site has a review section for suspension items. BBK, steeda and eibach springs have reviews. While you are shopping for springs, maybe check out H&R. Last I read, max. motorsports recommends these for their setups.

Well I have it narrowed down to either the H&R or Eibach pro-kit springs to go w/ the tokico shocks/struts. How necessary would it be to get c/c plate or offset bushings when I install these? Also is there anything else i should be getting for when i install the springs and shocks??

Great site JW, thanks
