If you want to Auotcross or road race, pick Saleen or Steeda package
and either buy as whole or take down part numbers and start peice-meal. Don't just throw together fad parts. Saleen and Steeda have spent mucho big money developing road racing packages that they have won tons of pro races with. Both have tech lines and Mustang fanics that will help you decide on how to start. I personally have a full Saleen Racecraft suspension I put on in 93 ( replaced 85 Racecraft that was stock). I can assure you if you drive my car without a harness, the first hard left and your agianst the passenger door wondering what just happened.

I have to agree with H&R springs

http://www.hrsprings.com

Not to knock Steeda or Saleen, but to my knowledge they do not manufacture the springs they sale. H&R does.

I would venture to guess that H&R probably makes Steeda's and Saleen's springs. I really don't know if they do, but that's my guess.

Your springs and rate comes down to what you want to use the car for. An all out race spring will jar your teeth loose on the street.

I sell Steeda parts and like their suspension package but there are better setups for less money. Try www.MaximumMotorsports.com

BTW...Saleen doesnt RACE what they sell on the street, their "street" parts are moslty built by others.

To restate it, Saleen won manufacture cup and driver titles with showroom stock 3rd gen cars, and worked with many aftermarket companys to develop Saleen parts. Most bought manufacture rights or were part of R&D deal. Everone uses outside suppliers, it whould be way to expensive to manufacture every part themselves, it's the people who set the spec's that matter. As far as race what they sell, S281's are not promoted as racecars, thats the domain of the SR351's and they race and win with the same parts as the one you can buy if you have $161,000 ($163,570 for street comfort add- ons) at your local Saleen certified Ford dealership. Or you can buy the parts to make yours do the same like most of us without that kind of credit rating. Every part Saleen uses on SR's has a part number and is for sale. Sure they sell "race inspired" sport type set-ups like everyone if you want them for the street but don't confuse those with the real thing.
