Default Sumitomo tires

Anyone have experience with the sumitomo HTR Z's. I've got an '89 notch which I occasionally autocross. Reviews on tirerack seem to be o.k. but looking for more opinions. Also, will I have clearance problems going with 245/50/16's. I've got alba rims with the same back spacing as the old ten holes.

I just ordered some from tirerack. I think they are the HTR+ but I'm not sure. They are the all-season tires. I talked to a local tire shop and they praised them as well.

I've seen the HTR+ advertised as well. I think they may be different from the HTR Z's. The z's have a tread wear rating of 160 and I do not think they are considered all season...could be wrong.

I don't remember which ones are the HTRs, but a freind on mine put some sort of Sumitomo tire on his 96 GT (Just like mine) and has not been happy with them at all as far as handling. I know they were NOT Z rated, they might've been H, but even as a passenger I've noticed the difference in handling, the back end seems a lot more "rubbery" and almost has a wandering feel to it from the softer sidewalls. If you an dig up a picture, I'll recognize the tread pattern. But he sure dosen't like them and I wouldn't buy them either. The he had some kinda firestones on there before and they were much better.
