Question Subframe connectors & resale value

Hey.. question for everyone: Given two identical Mustangs, one w/ subs and one w/out, which one would you buy?

The one that has been more cared for

Subs are cheap.

cheap, yes, but would you rather buy a car that has them, or doesn't?

I look at it two way's. What all has been done or was done to the car with the sub-frame conn. It could have been beaten on. If eveything checks out to be good the one with the sub-frame conn. could have less squeeks and rattles to deal with and it's one less mod to have to do later.

Subframe connectors really do not effect the price of the car, so I would get the one in better over all condition

So the concensus so far is that they're a desireable thing to have, provided the car wasn't flogged? -Jim

I'll amplify a little: The situation is, is that my '03 Cobra will be arriving in March. I'm considering a set of subs simply for the sake of keeping the frame straight, as I don't plan on racing it until its paid for. My concern is that having them installed - rather permenantly - will hurt its resale value should I have to sell it. Y'know? -Jim

Cobra, the only way that it will hurt is if you plan to sell it now...or keep it in the garrage collecting dust

So you don't think that someone out to buy an entirely original Cobra would mind? Jim

I wouldn't mind. Think about it a New 03 Cobra with that much power could easily tweak the Unibody of a Mustang if you could hook that thing up! I would look at it as a plus. I know how I would drive one

Adding sub frames should not diminish the resell value providing it does not show abuse and you maintain it in good condition. I would consider good quality subframes a plus. As 1QWKSVT pointed out, the power of a new 03 Cobra Mustang could possibly tweak the Unibody. IMO why take the chance.
