These plates allow adjustment of the strut, which is important if you are lowering your car and also for high speed handling. Camber is the in and out movement of the top of the strut. More caster keeps the outside of tire flatter against the pavement especially during cornering. But like anything too much is bad for your tires and even your powersteering pump. Also stick with the polyurethane bushings . Installation is really pretty direct, in most cases its an R&R job.
