Need some help in picking out a set of new socks for my 1992 Mustang Convertible LE.
I want to make use of that Maximum Motorsports coil-over suspension in corners, off the line and at high speeds, while still mantaining some decent road manners. Looking for a ZR or better speed rated tire, with outstanding high speed capabilities, quick steering response and both cornering and straight line traction for both dry and wet road conditions. Not worried about tread wear life or cost but road noise and ride quality is a consideration since its mostly street and highway driven miles.
So far I have it narrowed it down to a set of 225x55x16
Bridgestone Potenza S-03's or the
Firestone Firehawk SZ50 EP's to mount on my original 225x55x16 pony wheels.
Both tires have received some awesome reviews and recommendations over at
tirerack.com
Anybody have any experience, opinion or advise on these or any other tire I should be considering?
