Angry Brake Dust on paint won't come off? 2003 Mustang GT

Been hotlapping most weekends and over time I've noticed that the brake dust from hard braking starts to accumulate on the body of the car! What's the best way to get it off? I've tried to wash it but it sort of sticks to the paint. At one point I took a deck brush and tried to clean it off but it can't be very good for the paint to be scrubbing it with a deck brush. Besides, even with a deck brush it still didn't all come off. It gets all over my wheels and even when I try and clean just the wheels with brake cleaner I have to take a metal scraper and scrape off the brake dust that accumulates. I don't think that brake cleaner on the paint would be a very good idea. Any suggestions?

John

Try a little bit of gasoline on a sponge or rag and give it some elbow grease. Should come right off.

You don't think it'll hurt the paint?

No i've done it to mine before. It wont hurt it. But once you do that, wash it with soap and water soon after.

I've dealt with this before. I used to own a detail shop so i can speak from experience. Meguiars makes a clay bar kit that should do the trick.
You can usually find this kit at a parts store or possibly wal mart.
The use of it is simple.

1. use a soapy solution with a spray bottle and spray over area, only work a 8"x8" are at a time so it wont dry.

2. while area is soapy just simply rub clay over it a few times, the clay should turn colors as it becomes filled with the contaminents.

3. have a clean terry towel handy to wipe off panel and if it feels smooth as a babys bottom then you've got it.

4. the when you're done clean the area (or car) thoroughly and wax to protect and seal the paint. HOPE THIS HELPS EVERYBODY OUT.

When you first get your clay bar, break it into 3 even pieces..each piece should be good for 1 full body detail..then just throw them away after use...
