A PCM chip can disable the speed governor.

for most (if not all) fords untill the mid '90s had a speed sensor in the transmition. There are 2 or 3 wires on this sensor at the back portion of the tranny, unplug these and it will eliminate the speed governer. However depending on what year it is I would see about a computer programer so that you could not only eliminate the speed governer but also get a few more horsepower through timing and fuel adjustments Also be sure to get the appropriate tires as you are planning to go faster than what Ford origonally intended. I recomend Z-rated so you don't have to worry about any of the high speed blowout stuff.
