Default Handling

This is directed to the classic guys out there. New owner of a 68 stang. Was wondering how these classics are suppose to handle? It has power steering and had it up on jack-stands and everything seemed to be tight enough. Tire pressure is ok too. But it just seems to be alittle loose on the road. Any ideas?
Thanks
jeff

Ok I'll try this one.

A while back they use to relocate the upper control arms lower on their mounting area in the towers. this is the same thing Carrol Shelby used to do. I'm not to sure on how much to lower them, but I hear it does wonders for handling.

I would check with the Shelby clubs or vintage racer clubs
i'm sure someone from there could help

Let us know what you find!

if you lower the upper control arms down 1 inch, that should do the trick. when the car was in the air, did you notice how much camber the tires had? the tires start to tuck under the car!! this will also lower your car about 1/2 an inch, but well worth it.

Yeah i have always wondered about this myself. A guy i know wanted to race me on a roadway in his 67 fastback rebuilt and i handed his ass to him. All i could see in my mirrors were his wheels tucking under. Did not look good.

Mainly good for drag if that. I would just enjoy an older one for show or for a nice sunday drive.
