I just bought my stang a few months ago and last night I was at a light and a Chrysler Crossfire kept beating me off the line. I assume the Crossfire was a SRT which means it has about the same horsepower as me. With all my mods I figure I am getting 335 hp. I think i wasn't reving the engine enough and throwing it into gear quick enough. What is the best RPM to start in when racing off the line?

if your car is an Auto leave off the line at an Idle.
I've always had my best 60' times doing that.

assuming you have stock tires i would just dump the clutch and floor it no reving and eventually go to the track and actually try out what works better for you

Actually, 2500 rpm is exactly right....I went and practiced since I posted this thread and it seems like 2500rpm is best. However, I rev the rpm's up so high in first gear....I actually hit my rev limiter. Here is a link to my video of me practicing.
