Default 1990 mustang oxford white can I Buff?

My paint is original looks shabby money is tight so what can I do to spruce it up? Is there clear coat on a 1990? Can I buff it real good and what products Should I use? Wet sand? I cannot afford a new paint job yet so any suggestions would be great.

How good is the condition of the paint? What do you mean looks shabby? Have you been taking care of it like waxing it and so on. This is what I would do. First I would wash it then get yourself a claybar kit. And then do that. Second step polish it out and thirdly wax it. That should make a difference.

I am not 100%, 99% - I do believe they had clearcoat - but I wouldn't buff off the bat - you really need to do a good cleaning before you even think of buffing... Just a thought: It might be worth the money to bring it to a professional and then take it from there afterwards. To me, I know money is tight - but the money you'd spend on all the products to clean and do it right - you'd be better off letting a professional get their hands on your ride and I think you'd see a huge difference... Around here you're looking between $90 and $150 for a total clean and detail interior/exterior. Good luck and let us know how you make out!!!

Well I just got the car and the paint has not been taken care of at all. No rust though just lots of swirls and it looks dull

If it is just swirled up a good old fashioned jitterbuffer worked over the surface slowly will usually do the trick . I also prefer meguiars products
if you can find it get Medallion, it is the best! Otherwise you can buy the gold class it works very well also. What has worked best for me in the past was to use the jitterbuffer for applying wax only. Then use a
microfiber cloth to remove wax by hand.
