For some reason, my black mustang convertible always ends up with some dust left all over after parking for a while.
Usually every morning, before I take my car out, I wipe down my car from all the frost left from the cold air and it looks brand new. (Just got it washed, waxed, and polished two days ago).
But for some reason, whenever I go to my after school or after work or something, I always end up noticing signs of dust all over the car. Its not THAT big of an issue from far away, but it does irritate the **** out of me.
Anybody have any idea why this always happens? And is it natural?
my car does that too... what i hate is when you wash it and you think you get all the water off but some of it dries (lets say on your hood) and now you can see the dried up water marks!! its pollen season right now where i live so for the next month, its pretty musch pointless to wash my car, i'll just let the rain take care of it 'till all the fine yellow powder goes away! but back to the topic... i believe this is natural, like i said it happens to mine too. you probably dont notice the dirt in the motning because you wipe the frost off, therefore wiping the dirt off too... but as you drive it around more dirt collects on it so by the end of the day, your car that was detailed 2 days ago look like it hasnt been washed in a month. but thats wht i think... oh and on a side note... remember that pic comment you left me? yea well to answer your question, insurance was a bee-otch, so i had to go with the V6...

If you use a CA Duster, MAKE SURE that you do NOT put it on your car. It will scratch your car if you do so. With that duster, you want the static to take off the dust and that will keep it from scratching your car or giving the swirls.
If you wash it yourself, just use a hose without a nozzle and just let the water gently remove the dust. Any kind of pressure washer or even a standard nozzle will push the dust into your paint, causing you to need to re-clay it..
Black cars show every thing, tuff color to keep showroom shine on all cars get that dust just shows more on black. The best thing to do is keep detail spray and white cotton towel in the car to remove dust never ever dust car off without some spray otherwise you are sure to leave a scratch. two bucket method to wash car and make sure your wash mitt is clean and rinse it out well good luck with black looks great but hard to keep

That is the only problem with a black car. I had one looked great right after you washed it but five minutes later had signs of dust on it. It does suck.

Oh, thanks for all the input.
Does anybody have any suggestion on what type of wax or fluid I should keep with me to clean off my car from time to time? And also wondering, do you think a car cover would help at all?
As for fluids.. Look up some Maguires detailing spray or something.. Make sure you don't get the quick wax =P
I use 3D Auto Detailing and Car Care Products occasionally. It's called Waterless Carwash. I don't prefer it, but its cheap. Maguires (I think... Forgot what company) has a fully synthetic detailing spray that works wonders if you use the maguires wax. Being that you are in LA, carnuba wax should be fine.. I can't use carnuba in Vegas cause it literally just melts off -_- lol
Not to cause any arguments or anything, but don't use a cotton towel.. Just get a micro fiber towel. The reasin is that micro fiber will suck the dust up into the actual towel and absorb, while cotton won't get the dust as high into the fabric, leaving swirls (especially on black).
And watch the video tutorials on the site. They help alot when first starting =)
Your right about cotton towels should have said 100% cotton usa made sorry or micro fiber is fine also

I think grimreaper was right about the pollen. I walked out to take a look at my baby, and saw the same dust.I took my hand and glided it across the hood and my hands came up with a yellow dusty material. So I'm guessing it is the pollen that is causing this. I hope it goes away soon...summer coming means plenty of fun.
