I am putting some serious thought into painting my car. It looks really worn up close, and I believe it hasn't been painted since the purchase in '01. What color do you guys think I should paint it? I was kind of leaning towards and ashy gray color with black racing stripes and black wheels later on. But I am open to multiple suggestions, what do you guys think?
(Looking for a dark look. Repainted black make sense? any cheaper?)
What about a new 08 color like vista blue, Dark Candy Apple Red Mettalic Clear Coat or one of the new "greys" "silvers"? Too much? Or the highland green that looks almost black.(Buillett color)

Do you happen to have any pictures of the new grey and silver colors?
I googled grey and came up with this picture. http://dw3066.k12.sd.us/cars/Shelby%20Cobra%20GT.bmp
I was looking for something like that, maybe a little darker grey.
i think the dark grey with black stripes would be awesome! gunmetal shades of grey are gettin really popular these days, but the black racing stripes & black wheels would put a dif. spin on it. it would def be a head turner!
I really am thinking about vista blue and torch red, but im not too much of a flashy person and couldnt really stick with one or the other for too long.
I also really like the yellow mustang (a little more vivid), but couldnt hang with that for so long either.
The gun metal grey with black racing stripes sounds really to be me right now because im more of a low profile kind of person.
Any ideas on decals i should add for a 2000? I like the boss side stripes, but not the text =/
Yea ive been looking a at vista blue and torch red. They're are pretty cool colors, but i wouldnt want to actually own one of those.
I really like the new grey color. Something like that, or like a darker metal color is something i think i could live with.
Also, it wouldnt be as hard to maintain because of the color. So im looking for that with like 10 inch stripes and the side stripes. Then black rims later on...
Black would definitely be cheaper. You wouldn't have to paint the door jambs and trunk lid, for instance.
But let me ask you, do you really need a paint job, or would a good detailing do the job? I have a 2000 F-150 I use as a daily driver, and it looks like it just came off the lot. A good detailer can work miracles. It might cost a few hundred dollars, but might also save you thousands. You'd then have money left over to spend on stripes or other mods.

OK, so I've added a few things to it. Check my Profile - too many to list here.
I really don't know if I NEED a paint job. It just seems really dull to me up close. The paint seems really worn out in certain places and there are a lot of noticeable swirls all over. Last time it was detailed, I got it buffed, polished, and waxed because of dried sprinkler spots and pollen spots. About four days later, it looked like it hadn't been washed in weeks.
I guess its because its a black car, and is really hard to maintain. I don't have the money and time to dedicate in order to keep my car looking smooth every few days. I figure that if I go with something like mineral grey, it would be fairly easy to maintain and still have the bold dark look that I appreciate.
